How to use
How to compress an image online
SoftVani keeps the compression process simple. You can optimize an image in a few steps without installing desktop software.
Choose your image
Select a JPG, PNG or WebP image from your phone or computer.
Choose your settings
Adjust quality, select an output format and optionally set a smaller maximum width.
Compress and download
Create the optimized image, compare the file size and download the result.
Why compress images?
Large image files can take longer to transfer, upload and download. Reducing unnecessary image data can create a smaller file that is easier to share or use on the web.
The best settings depend on the image. Photographs often work well as JPG or WebP, while graphics that need transparency may be better suited to PNG or WebP.
If file size is especially important, reducing the image dimensions can often make a larger difference than changing quality alone.
Image compression tips
Try WebP when you want a smaller modern web image.
Use a lower quality setting gradually instead of immediately choosing the minimum.
Reduce maximum width when the original image is much larger than you actually need.
Preview the result before downloading to make sure the visual quality is acceptable.
FAQ
Image Compressor questions
How does the SoftVani Image Compressor work?
Choose a JPG, PNG or WebP image, select your output format and quality, then press Compress Image. The tool creates a new optimized image that you can preview and download.
Are my images uploaded to a server?
No. This image compressor processes the selected image inside your browser. The current tool does not send the image file to a SoftVani upload API.
Which image formats are supported?
You can select JPG, PNG and WebP images. The compressed result can be exported as WebP, JPG or PNG.
Why can a compressed image sometimes become larger?
File size depends on the original image, output format, dimensions and selected quality. If the result becomes larger, try WebP, reduce the quality or lower the maximum width.
Does reducing image quality change the dimensions?
Not automatically. Quality and image dimensions are separate settings. You can optionally enter a maximum width if you also want to reduce the image dimensions.
